Naturally Good for You
We personally select our delicious raw active Manuka honey straight from the pristine, unpolluted landscapes of New Zealand’s South Pacific. Our honey is cold packed and only coarsely filtered meaning all the good enzymes and vitamins are preserved every step of the way from our hives to your table.
As a raw product, our Manuka honey will have an alkalising effect in the body. Manuka honey can help maintain a healthy mouth, throat, immune and digestive system. Manuka honey’s antibacterial properties help soothe sore throats and reduce the urge to cough.
Active Manuka honey can help your body stay strong and healthy:
Containing iron, zinc and B vitamins, active Manuka honey has restorative powers that help your body make a speedy recovery from illness.
As it is relatively acidic, our honey discourages the growth of “hostile” bacteria, while replenishing healthy tissue and stimulating your body’s own natural production of infection-fighting white blood cells.
Anti Inflammatory & Antioxidant:
Good levels of antioxidants also help to reduce inflammation.
Manuka honey is easy to incorporate into your diet whether it’s in your tea or on your morning porridge or slice of toast. (Please note that our active Manuka honey is bursting with good enzyme and hydrogen peroxide activity which ideally needs to be kept below 40°C.)
WHY IS OUR HONEY “RAW”?
Raw honey means unpasteurised honey that is poured into jars at 37ºC - we chose this temperature because it’s the natural temperature for honey on a frame in a beehive on a summer’s day (in New Zealand!). The honey is filtered only with a coarse strainer which retains valuable pollen and propolis but removes any unwanted bee debris. We believe in minimal processing because all the natural enzymes, phytonutrients and higher activity levels are conserved in the jar. At a pasteurising 80ºC, the delicate enzymes of live raw honey are destroyed.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE HEALTH BENEFITS:
Pioneering research by Professor Peter Molan, Honey Research Institute, Waikato University first identified Manuka honey’s unique and powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Manuka Honey was proven to help relieve symptoms of gingivitis and periodontal disease and relieve symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders.
There are lots of great reasons to bring active Manuka honey into your family life. Here’s why:
Active Manuka honey has two antibacterial properties, hydrogen peroxide and a Manuka factor (Non-Peroxide Activity or ‘NPA’) which work together to provide outstanding healing. Used to quell over 60 bacteria and fungi, its antibacterial action is highly stable and has shown considerable success in clearing wounds and resolving infection.
Honey’s marvellous gift to skin lies partly with its capacity to retain moisture, enabling skin to heal more swiftly with less chance of scarring. Good for burns, grazes, rashes and stings, Active Manuka Honey maintains a protective barrier and appears to promote better tissue healing - encouraging new growth while softening and smoothing the skin.
MANUKA HONEY IN THE NEWS:
Reduction of Chemotherapy Side Effects

Active Manuka honey is considered such a potent antibacterial force that it is currently being used in major hospitals to combat serious wound infections.
Combatting ‘Superbug’ MRSA
Manuka honey’s remarkable antibacterial properties are being employed to prevent and combat superbug MRSA. Professor Rose Cooper from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, who was one of the researchers, explained that the findings with Streptococci and Pseudomonas “suggest that manuka honey can hamper the attachment of bacteria to tissues”.
